Our Grocery Cooperators work closely with the Grocery Specialists and Manager to consistently meet the needs of shoppers in a fast-paced service and grocery environment.
Tasks include operating a cash register, cash handling, customer service, receiving, stocking and inventory rotation; as well as cleaning duties.
Experience is great, but not required.
Ability to work collaboratively with the team is a must.
Ideal candidates possess:
scheduling flexibility, customer service skills; previous retail experience, supervisory experience, and/or material handling and warehousing experience.

Responsibilities:
Reports to work as scheduled and on time.
Adheres to store-wide policies and department guidelines.
Provides prompt and friendly service with care and patience Works with co-workers as a team to ensure shopper satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Scans, bags items, and handles cash quickly and accurately, and with exceptional customer service Understands and effectively communicate store promotions, community resources/programs, and cooperative ownership and ownership benefits.
Timely and organized receiving, quality control, and warehousing Effectively stock, rotate, and merchandise store aisles and displays Understands and practices proper sanitation procedures and ensures work areas are always clean and neat.
Greets shoppers throughout the store as well as during phone interactions.
Assists shoppers by escorting them to products or directing them to a team member for additional assistance.
Skill Requirements Must have the ability to read written and interpret verbal or demonstrated instructions.
Must be able to solve practical problems and work towards solutions.
Must be able to perform simple addition and subtraction, as well as counting and recording.
Must have the ability to write identifying information, and make requests verbally or in writing.
Physical Requirements Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, lift up to 20 pounds; and constantly to move objects.
Must be able to perform the following physical activities:
climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, grasping, feeling and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions
Equipment This is a fast-paced work environment.
This position is exposed to both cold and warm environments, dampness, noise and vibrations from equipment.
There are possible hazards from receiving equipment, industrial balers, and frozen storage environments.
There is exposure to cleaning chemicals and solvents.
This position requires use of some, if not all, of the following:
electric and manual pallet jacks, rigid ladders, box knives, paper trimmers, laminators, as well as digital communication devices as needed.
