This is a 40 hour per week benefits-eligible position.

The Bert Nash Center (BNC) is the designated community mental health center & the certified community behavioral health clinic (CCBHC) for Douglas County, KS.

Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Behavioral Health Specialist will be to provide supervision and supportive services to specified adults with recurrent mental health disorders within the community.
Consistency and flexibility is a must.
Reliable vehicle is required.
Must be 21 years or over.
Some specific duties include but not limited to:
Providing client support within the community for KDADS housing programs; Providing services as a member of a pool of Community Support staff; Providing individual community support, assisting with psychosocial groups or attendant care services in a variety of settings including, but not limited to, the client's home, the hospital, the Community Support Services (CSS) program site, or another community setting with the primary purpose being to maintain the client in the least restrictive setting and reduce the risk of hospitalization; Consulting with case manager and treatment team to provide good follow through on treatment plans and linkage to needed BNC or community service; Complementing structured time, activities, and behavioral interventions; Delivering reimbursable hours of service compliant with established standards; and Provide crisis on-call services as needed.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job C.
Qualifications:
Including but not limited to:
Must have one year of college course work in the field of human services or one year of experience in the field of human services; or other experiences with adults who have severe and persistent mental illness which can serve as a basis for understanding symptoms and treatment; a combination of at least one year of education, and/or work, and/or experience in the field of human services can substitute for a year in any one area; Reliable transportation and valid, unrestricted driver's license; Be 21 years or older; Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with persons with severe and persistent mental illness; Demonstrated ability to make good decisions in a variety of human service situations; Flexibility in assigned working hours; Must be able to lift 25 pounds Bert Nash Center requires proof of Covid-19 immunization prior to starting any position.
Covid-19 vaccine series must be completed or in process to be cleared for new hire orientation.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
