Summary:

We are seeking a creative, highly skilled, and collaborative individual to support the Planning and Development Services Department in its goals, initiatives, and efforts for the citizens of Lawrence, Kansas.
Responsibilities:
This is a front-line position, responsible for greeting and assisting members of the public with requested information; processing various application submittals; and assisting the public with telephone, email, and walk-in inquiries.
Key responsibilities of this position include completing various clerical and technical tasks and duties related to keeping and processing applications.
Qualifications:
High School equivalent required with college coursework or technical education preferred.
This position requires two to four years of responsible administrative/clerical experience, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, financial and community development software programs, and basic accounting principles.
The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with great attention to detail.
The candidate selected for this position must have excellent telephone skills and the ability to resolve customer concerns in a highly professional manner.
The successful candidate must pass a background check, a City physical, and drug screen.
The position is open until filled.
