We are a very busy small animal practice and are looking for an outgoing, friendly and hard-working person to work 25-40 hours per week including every other Saturday.
Our ideal candidate is able to multitask and has excellent customer service skills.
We need someone who is dependable, organized, self-motivated and has a strong work ethic.
There can be times when this job requires you to calmly handle stressful situations and still be able to focus on the task at hand.
Previous veterinary experience is definitely a plus, but we will also consider training a customer service oriented, energetic person with little vet experience.
The primary responsibility of a veterinary assistant is to support the veterinarians and veterinary technicians with daily patient care, examinations, proper restraining, medical testing, client education, scheduling appointments, answering phone calls and discharging patients.
Assistants will help maintain a clean, efficient, and healthy environment for animals being treated or boarded at the hospital.
The veterinary assistant is a crucial part of the medical team and is responsible for advocating for the patient as well as education of the clients.
Must be able to stand/walk for most of the day and frequently may have to lift and/or move patients.
We work a rotating 2 week set schedule (every other Saturday is a requirement) with paid time off for holidays.
Our office hours are Monday through Thursday 7:
30am to 6pm, Friday 7:
30am to 5:
30pm and the Saturdays from 7:
30am to noon.
