Together, we can make a difference while building a rewarding career! Job SummaryThe Grant Development Specialist position will assist our client in acquiring financial support from external entities by identifying funding opportunities and writing and preparing grant proposals.
The Grant Development Specialist will:
Write grant proposals and research potential funding opportunities from, public, private, state, and federal sourcesAssist with communication of funding opportunities, coordination strategies, determine eligibility, and program requirementsAssist in the preparation of the proposals, edit and prepare the final application package for submission.
Monitor funded activitiesMonitor JEO's compliance with proposal objectives and funding agencies reporting and accountability standardsDevelop and maintain an internal summary of available funding opportunities and calendar of deadlines.
Review proposal feedback for potential resubmission opportunities and/or submission to other grant agenciesAttend conferences to identify new and changing funding opportunitiesRequired
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Planning, Journalism, or related fields3 years of experience in grant writing or funding Outstanding technical writing and editing, and organization skillsProficient in Microsoft OfficeAbility to work effectively under deadlinesHigh level of attention to detailIndependent and resourceful research skillsPreferred
Qualifications:
Experience with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) grant writing and administrationKnowledge of public facilities and infrastructureCDBG certified, or willingness to obtain certificationFamiliarity with state and federal funding programsExperience with grants.
