As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and processing all invoices and payments in a timely and accurate manner. Your role will support our financial operations by performing detailed work requiring a high level of accuracy and efficiency. This position reports to the Accounts Payable Manager and works closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure the integrity of the accounts payable system.

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join the finance team in Lawrence, Kansas. This role is crucial for maintaining my client's financial health and ensuring the smooth operation of their vendor and supplier relationships.


Description


  • Process invoices, ensuring all bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with finance policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and reconcile the accounts payable ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
  • Handle vendor queries and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure smooth transaction processes.
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
  • Prepare monthly reports on accounts payable status and assist with month-end closing.
  • Maintain historical records by filing documents both digitally and physically.
  • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
  • Serve as a liaison between the finance department and other departments to ensure cohesive business operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tax changes, and compliance issues related to accounts payable.

Profile


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
  • Self-starter - this will be a start-up, high-growth environment
  • 2
    years of experience in an accounts payable role, preferably in the medical devices or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors and internal teams.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
