POOL: Student Program Assistant Jayhawk Consulting Student Hourly

## Position Overview
The dual objectives of the Jayhawk Consulting program are to provide high quality business and technical consulting assistance to regional organizations so that they can grow and generate resources and employment opportunities for the State of Kansas; secondly, to continue to provide a superior experiential learning opportunity for selected students through the practice of "real world" business problem solving within challenging time and budget constraints.
## Job Description
These objectives will be accomplished by addressing challenges brought to Jayhawk Consulting by "threshold" existing clients as well as developing and expanding the roster or organizations served.
## Required Qualifications
1. During the semester term of the appointment, the KU Business student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments)
2. Successful completion of MGMT 485 or MGMT 785
## Preferred Qualifications
1. Graduate student status
2. Academic backgrounds need not be limited to business; a diversity of education and experience is preferred due to the wide range of consulting assignments
3. A varied and deep experience base on which to draw potential project solutions
4. Demonstration of innovative thinking in meeting past challenges
5. The capacity to accelerate through the project's learning curve, to work quickly and efficiently ensuring on-time project completion
6. Ability to team effectively for synergistic thinking and work-load sharing
7. Ability to prioritize assignments and deliver against accepted deadlines

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
