Supply Chain Project Leader

We are currently seeking an experienced professional within the Supply Chain field who can lead our sourcing and cost reduction initiatives.
Job Summary: Places orders, expedites back orders and processes paperwork associated with company's products and special order demand. Reads and interprets MRP output to determine what to buy. Leads sourcing and cost reduction initiatives. Insures company is buying product at the lowest possible TCO.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Place purchase orders in support of production requirements, follow up on back orders, make special arrangements for delivery, and communicate to the internal customer in a timely manner.
Maintains up to date information on vendors to ensure immediate access to information.
Establishes and maintains up to date catalog pricing to ensure proper evaluation of cost standards and vendor invoicing.
Resolves issues related to cost and payment of invoices
Monitors special order requirements and places orders and expedites as needed to support customer needs.
Monitors inventory levels of assigned product categories.
Uses Oracle system based reports to evaluate items to be purchased coordinating a smooth flow of material through the supply chain.
Evaluates reported Quality Issue information and works with the supplier toward resolution for manufacturing and/or customer satisfaction.
Utilizes proper planning skills through the use of MRP, comprehends system settings and maintains those settings with regard to safety stock, minimums, multiples, planning and message fences. Makes needed adjustments in support of manufacturing demand and supplier capabilities.
Researches, evaluates and assists and/ or leads teams in the selection of potential suppliers
Assumes other duties as assigned.
Coordinate the day to day and strategic demands, needs and requirements of the business for materials and services.
Develop and demonstrate intimate knowledge of assigned products and commodities to ensure adequate communication and coordination with supply group and manufacturing.
Promotes communication across the departments to identify and drive toward common policies and best practices to achieve cost reductions.
Improves processes and leverage technology to reduce costs; identify and implement best practices; measure performance Provides direction and prioritization to Re-Engineering (VA/VE) team efforts.
Maintains accurate supplier performance and financial information to manage supplier risk within the commodity or commodities to ensure a stable Entrematic supply chain.
Ensuring all communications regarding project progress and material status are generated, presented and distributed to appropriate personnel
THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES PERFORMED:
1. Subject matter expert for assigned commodities and supply chain
2. Coordinates smooth flow of material through supply chain
3. Orders and expedites material through vendors
4. Monitors inventory levels via the computer system or physical review
5. Evaluates, revises and maintains inventory levels in support of production planning
6. Manages relationship with suppliers in an analytical and professional manner
7. Manage and drive cost reductions including leading or facilitating cross functional teams
8. Prepare negotiation strategies. May conduct negotiations with selected suppliers as skill set develops9. Oversee contractual obligations and compliance ? insure contract compliance
10. Prepares for and leads business review with key suppliers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Light office activities and duties
2. Occasional material inspections, which may involve some light lifting (45 lbs. maximum).
3. Occasional walking and standing on the production floor.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
