Web Accessibility Specialist

_Position Summary:_ The Web Accessibility Specialist is primarily responsible for analyzing web applications and providing detailed feedback on how to make them fully accessible, primarily focused on WCAC 2.0 guidelines and ADA Compliance. The Specialist should have a thorough understanding of common accessibility software and devices. They should be skillful at communicating their findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audience and be able to implement these changes directly into the code (HTML/CSS/Javascript).
_Key Relationships:_ Business and Systems Analysts, Lead Application Developers, UI Designers, Front-end Developers
_Position Qualifications _
Education: 4-year degree, preferably in software, design, psychology or related fields
5+ years' experience in the web accessibility (strongly preferred), design, development, UX, or related fields.
Strong web design and development (HTML, CSS, etc.) skills and experience.
Skills and working knowledge of web accessibility principles, techniques, and guidelines.
Proactive and motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated personal work habits of self-initiation and attention to detail.
Required Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organization skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work well in a collaborative, team environment
In-depth understanding of W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
Knowledge and understanding of assistive technologies such as screen-readers
Preferred Skills:
Experience with HTML/CSS/Javascript technologies
GIT version control
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
Experience with usability testing

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
