Product Line Manager

Microsemi's Discrete Products Group (DPG) offers one of the industry's most comprehensive power and RF/microwave discrete semiconductor product portfolios. The DPG encompasses two business units, the Power Discrete & Modules BU and the RF/Microwave Discretes BU. Markets the PDM & RF/MW Discretes BUs address include: defense, commercial aviation, Space, communications, alternative energy, industrial, medical, embedded systems, motor control, power solutions, sensors, and security.
Summary: The Product Line Manager will be responsible for the development and support activities of the Voltage regulation and Protection Device product lines within the structure of the Power Discretes & Modules Business Unit and will be expected to establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena through best practice portfolio management. The Product Line Manager will be responsible for the program management of new product development, product lifecycle, and factory technical product support within the structure of the DPG, PDM, ensuring Group goals are met. Works with engineering, manufacturing and sales to develop new products or enhance existing products through yield enhancement programs, standard cost management etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Responsible for tracking and analysis of overall business levels of the protection product line
Manage End Of Life (EOL) programs throughout the product line if necessary
Work closely with strategic marketing on new product definition
Manage the product development process through definition (with strategic marketing), development (with technology centers), qualification (with quality 7 tech centers) & NPI (with production/operations)
Analyze product yield and prioritize and drive specific yield improvement programs
Work with strategic and tactical marketing on definition of custom developments and upscreening jobs
Review all RMAs and manage the Failure Analysis process through the relevant departments
Prepares materials for internal and external presentations on products, business plans and management
Monitors competitive activity and participates in product requirements analysis and identifying customer needs
Communicates customer feedback to engineering, manufacturing and sales to enhance existing products and product lines
Evaluates and recommends marketing opportunities consistent with product line objectives
This role will report directly to the Director of Product Line Management of DPG, PDM.
Qualifications:
BSEE or related engineering degree required, MSEE preferred
Minimum 8 years industrial experience in engineering and Product Line Management roles.
Prior technical leadership or development experience
Experience with related semiconductor technologies
Component and Product Engineering experience required.
Experience in program management is desirable
Sales experience and/or proven ability to leverage marketing team with sales to close new orders
Successful candidate will have a working knowledge of semiconductor design, product life-cycle and implementation
Must be able to travel via air and ground transportation to visit customers and trade shows to support the product line.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Outstanding ability to build and develop a strong rapport quickly
Strong organizational management and software skills
Ability to work independently; resourceful. Works equally well within a team.
Possess strong analytical and technical skill base
Able to learn quickly and independently and possess problem-solving skills
Must have strong skills in the use of MS Office software including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Presentation skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
