Prospective students? primary resources and path for selecting and enrolling in educational institutions are digital. In fact, a majority of applicants never speak with a representative from the school before applying. In large part, they find schools and programs through online searches, research them via websites and social communities, and progress to application and enrollment purely through the school website. Even those who do interact with school faculty and staff prior to enrollment often start the process online. A school?s digital strategy and its implementation are critical.
The University of Kansas Edwards Campus, located in Overland Park, seeks a digital marketing strategist. Her or his days will be filled with
Understanding strategies, goals, KPIs, objectives, target audiences and key messages of the campus and individual programs and units within it so that she or he can recommend and implement digital marketing strategies.
Personally performing digital marketing activities such as selecting lists for and sending mass emails, activating and optimizing online ads, constructing A/B tests, leverage marketing automation tools, and reviewing website additions and enhancements.
Performing research to determine the best digital advertising platforms and targets for new and current campaigns.
Assessing and improving the search engine rankings of our web pages.
Assessing and improving the user experience and conversion rates of our digital properties.
Meeting with other marketing team members to discuss individual tasks and assignments to start, maintain and optimize digital marketing efforts.
Reviewing reports and analysis.
Staying current on best practices and changes in digital marketing and higher education.
This is position is a combination of hands-on individual contribution and collaboration. To complete her/his duties and to assist other team members in their duties, the digital marketing strategist works closely with the rest of them marketing team including the graphic designer, copywriters, web developer, analyst and management.
## Job Description
30% - Directs and manages mass email content creation and distribution including list selection, segmentation, A/B testing, calls to action and timing.
20% - Launches, manages and optimizes pay-per-click online advertising including platform selection, keyword selection and targeting.
20% - Conceives, directs, manages and optimizes web pages for search engine ranking, engagement and conversion.
10% - Consults on and assists with social media and content marketing strategy and tactics.
10% - Assists with webinar and video concepting, logistics and execution.
10% - Other related duties as assigned.
## Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in journalism, advertising, business, communications, marketing or related field.
2. Three or more years of full-time professional digital marketing experience.
3. At least 3 years experience working with Google Adwords and Google Analytics tools.
4. Effective written and interpersonal communication skills as evidenced by application materials.
5. Two or more years experience working in a structured, team environment.
6. Two or more years experience with a WCMS, such as Drupal or Wordpress.
7. Two or more years experience working with marketing automation tools, such as Pardot or Hubspot.
## Preferred Qualifications
1. Currently or within the past two years qualified as a Google AdWords certified professional.
2. Currently or within the past two years qualified as a Google Analytics certified professional.
3. Strong knowledge of search engine optimization theory and practices.
4. Strong knowledge of online search and digital display advertising principles and practices.
5. Knowledge of user experience and landing page design best practices that optimize conversion rates.
6. Demonstrated success working effectively and efficiently across multiple product lines serving varied audiences, such as at an advertising or marketing agency.
7. Basic HTML and CSS writing and editing abilities.
8. Master?s degree in marketing, communications, business, journalism, information technology, computer science or a related discipline.
9. Strong time-management and organizational skills, with a record of being flexible, accurate, detail-oriented, reliable and self-motivated.
10. A curious, data-driven mindset.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
