IT Data Warehouse Manager/Engineer

Position Overview
The IT Data Warehouse Manager/Engineer is responsible for the strategy of the overall data warehouse infrastructure, support, and maintenance. The overall architect of the KU Data Warehouse. The incumbent independently qualifies where information can be stored or what information, external to the organization, may be used in support of the use case.
Job Description
30% - Establishes/maintains data standards and procedures, warehousing, design and development of logical and physical data models and databases, distributed data management, and information management functions.
30% - Manages all aspects of a data warehouse such as data sourcing, migration, quality, design, and implementation. Directs and develops staff who are dedicated to the development, upkeep and integrity of data warehouses.
25% - Unit manager of the IT Analytics Team. This includes performance agreements and evaluations, hiring procedures, training and necessary tools, approving time records, and disciplinary actions if necessary. Other supervisory responsibilities include:
Sets goals and objectives for direct reports
Delegates projects and tasks to team members
Provides an environment and culture that encourages innovation and productivity
Emphasizes ongoing development of staff technical and professional skills
10% - Communicates frequently with the IT Leadership, and provides status updates and knowledge to clients and peers.
5% - Other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
Bachelor s Degree and six years relevant experience or equivalent.
2+ years of prior management and leadership experience.
6+ years of experience with RDBMS (SQL) - prefer Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL
4+ experience with each of the following:
Data warehousing/Data Marts/Data Mining
ETL (Extract Transform Load) technologies
Business Intelligence Tools
Data Analysis
2+ years of experience working, communicating and collaborating effectively with technical teams, business partners, and management including excellent presentation and writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Azure Data Warehouse, SQL Server Analysis Services, or SQL Server Integration Services,
Experience with Power BI, OBIEE/BICS, Tableau, or other Business Intelligence tools.
Experience with Hadoop and Big Data Technologies (MapReduce, HDFS, Spark, Hive) and statistical modeling (like R).
Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with technical teams, business partners, and management including excellent presentation and writing skills.
Strong time-management and organizational skills, with a record of being flexible, accurate, detail-oriented, reliable and self-motivated.
Demonstrated experience with Data Acquisition, Processing, and Modeling. As well as, experience with a broad spectrum of analytics toolsets and business applications
Experience conducting facilitated sessions with staff and clients.
Experience producing technical documentation.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
