POOL - Student Academic Aide

## Job Description
The primary responsibility in this position is to ensure timely delivery of textbooks and in-class materials in accessible formats (e.g., electronic text, Braille, and large print) for KU students with print disabilities.
Duties include:
Scanning textbooks and other in-class materials, conversion of materials to Microsoft Word, PDF, or Braille. Other duties include serving as a laboratory aide, proctoring exams, scribing exams, and reading exams.
## Required Qualifications
Currently enroll in a minimum of 6 hours at KU with a minimum GPA of 2.75 is required.
Prior experience working independently and be familiar with computers, scanning and basic applications such as Microsoft Word, Adobe, etc.
Must be comfortable using technology, as evidenced through application materials, and be willing and able to learn new computer programs as needed.
## Preferred Qualifications
Experience with using scanning equipment and converting PDF documents to readable text, CD, MP3, or experience as an academic aide for disability services in a University setting.
Must have excellent attention to detail.
Eligible for Federal Work Study

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
