POOL - Facility Assistant-Student Hourly

## Position Overview
A facility assistant can work in one or more of the four responsibility areas within the ASRFC during a given shift. In each area, an assistant shall enforce and implement policies and procedures or complete particular responsibilities so that the University population has the opportunity to participate in desired recreational programs, facilities, and services.
Assistants are expected to work during the following periods: Fall and Spring Semester; and Fall, Winter, and Spring breaks. The Summer Semester is optional and is covered by those who are available to work. They will also work Monday-Sunday with early morning hours (5:15am), morning, afternoon, evening, and late night hours (closing at midnight). Assistants are expected to work weekend hours on a regular basis. Each assistant must be certified in CPR/AED or become certified within one month of appointment. The four responsibility areas an assistant can work are: Welcome Center; Equipment Check-Out, Rover and Special Events.
## Job Description
Welcome Center
Scanning of KUID?s and ASRFC ID?s as to enforce access policies.
Exceed customer service expectations.
Dissemination of KU Recreation Services program publicity while assisting participants with general facility information.
KUID checking and confiscation.
Booking Racquetball/Squash and Golf Simulator reservations.
Checking out equipment during morning and early afternoon shifts.
Equipment Check-Out
Assisting participants with check-out and check-in of equipment and informing them of our policies when checking out equipment.
Operating and maintaining washing machines and dryers.
Folding and maintaining laundry.
Booking Racquetball or Squash and Golf Simulator courts reservations.
Rover
Assist with court set-ups in the gymnasium: badminton standards and nets, divider curtains, portable table(s) and chair(s), portable stage, sound system, volleyball and basketball standards and goals.
Monitor and supervise Open Recreation activities.
Implement conflict resolution policies and procedures.
Enforce policies and procedures associated with the gymnasium, Indoor Track, as well as General Rules and Regulations of the SRFC.
Implement the facility schedule as it relates to activities occurring in the gymnasium.
Assist with any all Recreation Center duties as assigned by staff.
Operate second turnstile when needed.
Special Events
Be available (during open hours and after hours) to staff any and all Special Events in building, at Shenk and Outdoor Volleyball sites.
Assist with event set up and tear down.
## Required Qualifications
Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at KU.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
