POOL - Lecturer - Engineering Management Lecturer

## Position Overview
The Department of Engineering Management invites qualified scholars and professionals with experience in engineering and management to submit applications that will be reviewed by the faculty and placed in a pool for consideration for part-time teaching positions as they are needed. Lecturers teach graduate level courses and must possess an advanced terminal degree. This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Engineering and Project Management Program.
Applications will be reviewed and placed in a pool to be considered for teaching positions as needed. Applications will be accepted throughout the year. Appointments are one semester, renewable, subject to review and funding. The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. Any employment with the University of Kansas is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check.

## Job Description
50% Plans, prepares and presents lectures for one or more graduate courses in engineering management based on the approved course syllabi. Instruction is typically one class per evening (3 credit hours), one evening per week/ one course per semester.
50% Develops assignments, evaluates student work, supervises projects as appropriate to the course provides feedback to students, and grades student projects and exams. Maintains office hours as necessary to meet student?s needs. Prepares, teaches and organizes courses taught specifically via distance education.
## Required Qualifications
1. Earned Master's degree in engineering or closely related discipline OR 10 years of professional experience in closely related discipline.
2. Three to five years of professional experience and/or two to four years supervisory experience in engineering or related field.
## Preferred Qualifications
1. Doctorate level degree.
2. Evidence of prior success in teaching, preferably at the graduate level (e.g., course evaluations, supervisor ratings).
3. 5 or more years supervisory experience in engineering or relevant field.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
