POOL Student Receptionist - Student Hourly/Work Study

## Position Overview
The Receptionist is the first point of contact for the School of Music Dean?s office. This position requires various skills and includes a range of duties. Multi-tasking is key as tasks are delegated from professional staff members connected with the Dean?s office.
## Job Description
Assist Assistant Dean for Student Opportunity with collection of data for scholarship purposes, compiling a list of career-related opportunities for weekly e-mail, filling of gig requests, and other music career-related duties.
General office work, includes, but is not limited to: KUEA check requests, assisting with deposits, KUPPS check requests and orders, filing, photocopying, data entry, processing mass mailings, sorting mail, running errands, answering and directing phone calls, and other miscellaneous duties.
## Required Qualifications
1. Must show proven dependability through previous work experience.
2. Previous retail, office, or financial accounting experience required.
3. Available to work 5 - 20 hours per work, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday
4. KU student enrolled in a minimum of 6-credit hours per semester.
## Preferred Qualifications
1. Prior office experience
2. Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task
3. Must be able to work with a variety of people, from students to faculty and administration
4. Proficient in both Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
5. Possess excellent typing skills

During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
