As a Utility System Repair Operator TERM NTE 2 YEARS WG-4742-9, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:
Operates and maintains healing and cooling equipment for multiple building complexes Operation and maintenance of the following types of equipment, mechanical compression type cooling units, two ton window air conditioning units, air heating and ventilating units, hot water heaters and storage tanks. Monitors water supply and return temperature, outside temperature, relative humidity and cooling towers. Maintenance and service belts and/or changing filters, lubrication, installs worn and broken parts. Makes repairs on a variety of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning units. Maintains proper steam pressure and temperature by adjusting controls and regulating steam boiler, water pumps. Inspects and performs preventive maintenance to boilers and equipment. Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the OPM Standards. For this position, they are listed below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualification (Screen Out Element):
Ability to do the work of a(n) Utility Systems Repairer Operator involves operation and maintenance of heating and cooling systems and boilers; checking steam pressures, hot and chilled water supply and return temperatures, heating and cooling air supply and return temperatures; making repairs to burners, fans, pumps and other related equipment and restarting heating and cooling equipment that has been automatically shut down without more than normal supervision. Failure to meet this Screen-out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.
