For Sale: 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560SL in Lawrence, Kansas for sale in Lawrence, KS
Vehicle Description 1986 mercedes 560 SL coupe with perfect soft and hardtop.
135,000 miles.
I bought this car in oct 2014, previously owned by wife of famous football coach.
I believe it was well-cared for in its previous life, but have no proof of that.
I didn't drive it a lot.
Turns out with arthritis in back, neck and knees that it was not as easy to get in and out of as I had envisoned, so I was less likely to run out and take to store.
More for Sunday afternoon.
I did not do any major restoration.
Lots of maintenance.
I replaced fuel pump, spark plugs, leads, obviously oil, front brake calipers, rotor and brake pad, and I believe rear pads, replace AC compression rings.
Car has a smoky exhaust when it idles.
It is automatic.
Sometimes there is what I call a hard shift between first and second gear.
I don't know what they are like originally.
I got two opinions on this, both mechanics said nothing to do, leave alone.
I believe this is original paint.
It has scratches in paint like almost 40 year old car.
I am 76 years old, and it time to downsize everything, including this car, 1969 Rolls Royce, and wine collection.
It needs a new home.
